Engagement Facilitator (55+)

Museum London is seeking four Engagement Facilitators ages 55+ to bring our galleries to life from September 2026 to March 2027. Reporting to the Head of Programs and working closely with the Curator of Engagement and Outreach, Engagement Facilitators will participate in co-creation and collaborative discussion that will inform the development of engagement initiatives reflective of their experience and interests. Successful candidates will welcome visitors of all ages, lead hands-on activities, and share insights on our exhibitions. No previous museum experience is required, just a love of intergenerational engagement.

Scope of Work

• Independently set up and tear down the activity station and other required materials
• Share highlights, insights, spark conversations and lead a variety of hands-on activities for intergenerational audiences inspired by our current exhibitions and collections
• Interact with visitors and engage in meaningful conversations around exhibitions and programs, aligned with Museum London's mission and vision.
• Through training and orientation, establish a cohesive understanding of existing and upcoming exhibitions and programs to assist with visitor engagement
• Uphold Health and Safety requirements in activity stations, as dictated through Health and Safety Training.

Qualifications

• Background in education, art history, history, and community engagement
• Experience with informal/experiential learning
• Strong public speaking, active listening, patience, and improvisation

Eligibility

We welcome applications from adults aged 55+ who have a passion for arts and culture, enjoy connecting with people, and are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives with others. Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends. A valid Police Vulnerable Sector Check is required prior to the start of the program.

Please note that scheduled facility upgrades may occasionally affect access to the building's elevator. While we strive to maintain accessibility, candidates should be comfortable performing duties that may require a basic level of physical mobility and stamina. Please also note that complimentary on-site parking is not available.

Hours

• Part-time, seasonal contract spanning September 2026 to March 2027. Each Engagement Facilitator will be scheduled for up to 3 2-hour shifts/month, with a schedule that is normally Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursdays until 8:00 PM.

Location

• This is a new, grant-funded in-person position based in London, Ontario.

Compensation

• $21.25/hour
