What You Will Do
Reporting to the Supervisor, you will be responsible for developing, drafting, revising and releasing technical and process documentation related to all aspects of management, installation, testing, operations, maintenance, and repair within the Operations and Infrastructure Group.
Other responsibilities of your role will include:
- Leading the development and writing of documentation that is clear, concise, accurate, and timely in order to meet internal and external stakeholders’ needs and requests for use across multiple areas of the organization
- Developing comprehensive documents that adhere to TTC and industry best practices and are in alignment with engineering solutions, safety and environment practices, legislation, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) manuals, subject matter expert knowledge and all TTC policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Managing the document development process including the review, editing, revision, approval and release to stakeholders
- Reviewing and revising documents when requested and/or as per new designs, process changes, or changes to safety and environment requirements and legislation
- Preparing technical documents, reports and updates that meet requirements and using a variety of software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Liaising with all levels of management, supervisory, technical and field personnel to understand tools, equipment and processes, and recommending and implementing improvements
- Coordinating meetings with various stakeholders and organizing on-site validation activities
- Performing research applicable to the goals and objectives of the document being developed
- Attending and participating in meetings, discussion and site visits to observe and analyze operations
- Participating in technical problem solving, complex diagnostics, and quality assurance activities
- Responding to inquiries, providing status updates, and communicating all aspects pertaining to technical writing
- Updating and maintaining section administrative records, the Document Management System (DMS) and the Intranet site
- Attending internal and external training as required or requested
- Acting as a designate and/or assisting the Supervisor and other team members as required

What Qualifications Do You Bring
- Your educational background will consist of the completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or in the Engineering Technologist field, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- You will have excellent technical writing and editing skills that will allow you to develop technical and process documentation including procedures, standard operating procedures, work methods, forms, templates, reports, presentations, and guides.
- In addition, you will have strong, well-developed and effective interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with a diverse set of stakeholders across the organization from front-line workers to executive management.
- You will be proficient in the use of a personal computer and applications including MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Your ability to use software and database packages to analyze information and develop trends, statistical profiles and economic comparisons will be beneficial to you in this role.
- You will have good judgement, strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, organization and planning skills with a strong adherence to timelines. Your strong attention to detail will be invaluable in this role.
- Your demonstrated proficiency in structured / unstructured document authoring and design using Adobe FrameMaker will be considered an asset.
