This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students from around the world while living and working on our beautiful 17-acre campus in the South Okanagan Valley.As a live-in member of our Student Life Team, you will help create a safe, supportive, and engaging boarding environment where students thrive academically, socially, and personally.About the RoleThe Student Residence Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the daily life of boarding students through supervision, pastoral care, student engagement, and experiential learning opportunities. The successful candidate will help foster a positive residential culture while building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.This is a live-in position that combines mentorship, student support, programming, and leadership within a dynamic boarding environment.Key Responsibilities Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and daily care of boarding students Serve as a designated Pod Leader for approximately 8–12 students Act as a primary contact for assigned students and families Support student wellbeing, behaviour management, and restorative practices Plan and lead evening, weekend, and residential programming Organize and supervise excursions, outdoor activities, and community events Maintain accurate student records and documentation Support student onboarding, transitions, and community-building initiatives Assist with transportation, student services, and operational portfolios as assigned Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive boarding culture aligned with UNISUS values and the IB philosophy Qualifications Experience working with youth in boarding schools, residential programs, camps, education, recreation, or similar environments Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills A student-centered approach with a genuine commitment to mentorship and wellbeing Strong organizational and documentation skills Ability to remain calm, confident, and professional in dynamic situations First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) Mental Health First Aid or similar qualification, youth specific training preferred Post-secondary education in Education, Youth Work, Recreation, Student Affairs, or a related field is considered an asset Proficiency in more than one language preferred (especially Mandarin or Spanish) APPLICANTS MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN CANADA. Driving Requirements Valid Class 4 BC Driver's License (or willingness to obtain prior to start date) Clean driving record Comfortable transporting students in school vehicles Ability to drive in varying weather and road conditions Working ConditionsThis is a full-time live-in residential position requiring flexibility to work a rotating schedule that includes evenings, weekends, overnight on-call duties, and statutory holidays.The role involves active participation in outdoor and recreational activities, including hiking, skiing, swimming, kayaking, biking, and team sports.
