Grande Prairie is a great place to live, work, and play.Our Community Connections Department is looking for a dedicated Community Connections Manager to join the team.Position ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as Community Connections Manager. This position plays a key role in enhancing community well-being while cultivating partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and internal departments. The manager be responsible for strategic planning, community engagement, and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesFoster partnerships with over 200 community organizations, regional partners, and sport tourism stakeholdersServe as a subject matter expert in recreation, community development, and cultural programmingResponsible for public engagement programRepresent the City in public forums, community events, and advisory committeesResponsible for grant funding programsContract and agreements managementLead and manage a high-performing team including hiring, coaching, and performance managementDevelop and oversee department budgets, forecasts, and capital projectsDrive operational efficiencies, policy development, and continuous improvementQualificationsBachelor’s degree in recreation, sport, culture, business/public administration, or related fieldMinimum 4 years in a leadership/management role in recreation, sport, culture, or non-profit sectorsStrong project management and public relations skillsExperience with stakeholder engagement, grant management, and municipal governance preferredProven ability and skill in establishing and maintaining relationships, leading/facilitating meetings with multiple stakeholdersAbility to problem solve and find creative solutionsAbility to seek opportunities, self-drivenAdministrative experience including written reports, budget and financial managementStrong business and political acumenOrganizational development strategies and approachesPresentation, facilitation, and public speaking experienceIAP2 Certification considered an assetHoursThe standard workweek consists of an average of 40 hours, with the specific schedule being determined by the immediate supervisor.CompensationSalary range of $45.21 to $58.43 as per hour as per the Out-of-Scope Agreement.BenefitsComprehensive benefits package.
