Position Overview

Shared Health, under the Manitoba Ministry of Health, is seeking an experienced

Project Manager to lead complex information technology and healthcare information system initiatives within a clinical environment.

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience managing healthcare IT projects, implementing and upgrading the Altera Sunrise suite , coordinating

HL7 healthcare system integrations , leading provincial or state-wide healthcare information system implementations, and managing large, multi-stream clinical projects.

The role requires strong stakeholder management skills, particularly with senior clinical leadership, as well as the ability to ensure safe, effective, and well-coordinated implementation of healthcare technology solutions.

Mandatory Certifications – Pass/Fail

• Valid PRINCE2 Foundation/Practitioner or PMP certification.
• Proof of the valid certification must be provided with the submission.
• Valid PROSCI (ADKAR) Organizational Change Management certification.
• Proof of the valid certification must be provided with the submission.

Education

• Candidates must provide copies of relevant degrees and/or certifications.
• Alternatively, candidates should clearly identify where the education and certification information is included within their submission.

Required Skills & Experience

Requirement Minimum Experience Project management of information technology projects within a healthcare environment, including reporting progress to senior clinical management and ensuring safe implementation of software solutions in clinical settings

Implementation or upgrade of Altera Sunrise suite products within an acute care environment, including coordination with clinical resources and management and ensuring staff readiness

Direct testing or coordination of testing for healthcare information system integrations using the HL7 standard 5 years Leadership of healthcare information system implementations deployed at a provincial or state-wide level , including development of operational and clinical requirements for standardization of clinical services

5 years

Implementation of large healthcare solutions within clinical settings, including management of senior clinical stakeholders and large multi-stream project teams

Mandatory Experience – Submission Requirements

Candidates must provide specific project examples demonstrating the required experience.

Healthcare IT Project Management – 10+ Years

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Project Manager implementing information technology projects in a healthcare environment.
• Experience must include:
• Reporting project progress to senior clinical management.
• Ensuring safe implementation of software solutions within clinical environments.
• Provide at least 3 project/work examples.
• Examples must include the project title, duration, and specific responsibilities performed.
• Combined examples must demonstrate at least 10 years of relevant experience.

Altera Sunrise – 5+ Years

• Minimum 5 years of experience implementing or upgrading the Altera Sunrise suite of products in an acute care environment.
• Experience should include:
• Coordinating implementation activities with clinical resources and management.
• Preparing and supporting staff for new system implementations.
• Ensuring adequate organizational and user readiness.
• Provide at least 2 project/work examples.
• Examples must include the project title, duration, and specific responsibilities performed.
• Combined examples must demonstrate at least 5 years of relevant experience.

HL7 Healthcare Integration – 5+ Years

• Minimum 5 years of experience directly testing or coordinating the testing of healthcare information system integrations using the Health Level 7 (HL7) standard.
• Provide at least 2 project/work examples.
• Examples must include the project title, duration, and specific responsibilities performed.
• Combined examples must demonstrate at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Provincial / State-Wide Healthcare Implementations – 5+ Years

• Minimum 5 years of experience leading the implementation of healthcare information systems deployed at a provincial or state-wide level.
• Experience must include developing:
• Operational requirements.
• Clinical requirements.
• Standardization requirements for clinical services.
• Provide at least 2 project/work examples.
• Examples must include the project title, duration, and specific responsibilities performed.
• Combined examples must demonstrate at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Large Healthcare Solutions – 5+ Years

• Minimum 5 years of experience implementing large healthcare solutions in clinical environments.
• Experience should include:
• Managing senior-level clinical stakeholders.
• Managing large, multi-stream project teams.
• Coordinating complex healthcare implementation activities.
• Provide at least 2 project/work examples.
• Examples must include the project title, duration, and specific responsibilities performed.
• Combined examples must demonstrate at least 5 years of relevant experience.
