Senior SAP Technical UX Designer to lead user experience design across a major SAP S/4HANA modernization and field service transformation initiative
Our energy and resources client is seeking a Senior SAP Technical UX Designer to lead user experience design across a major SAP S/4HANA modernization and field service transformation initiative. The role focuses on creating intuitive, low-effort SAP workflows that drive user adoption and efficiency across corporate and field environments. This position delivers measurable impact by defining standardized UX patterns across S/4HANA, Work Zone, and mobile platforms, optimizing SAP processes to fit standard capabilities. Candidates will have the opportunity to design experiences that directly influence enterprise usability and operational performance across a complex transformation landscape.
Duration: Initial contract to the end of March 2027 with a possibility of extension.
Working model: Hybrid onsite within downtown Calgary (3 days onsite / 2 days remote).
Must Haves
- 7+ years of experience in UX design for enterprise software or ERP transformation projects
- Hands‑on expertise designing for SAP S/4HANA , SAP Fiori , SAP UI5 , and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
- Strong proficiency using wireframing and prototyping tools such as Figma or Adobe XD
- Demonstrated experience optimizing and designing end‑to‑end business workflows across applications
- Experience with user‑centered design methodologies, design thinking, and usability testing processes (including low‑fidelity and high‑fidelity prototypes, design systems and UI specifications)
- Knowledge of mobile UX design (iOS/Android) and designing for field service or offline‑capable applications (e.g., mobile workforce tools)
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and responsive design principles
- Experience with large‑scale digital transformation programs in the energy or resources sector
- Background in collaborating with cross‑functional product and development teams within SAP environments
Responsibilities
- Lead user research across office and field environments to identify workflows and pain points
- Design end‑to‑end SAP workflows aligned to Fiori standards, minimizing customization and user friction
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and detailed UX specifications supporting SAP S/4HANA and mobile solutions
- Define and enforce consistent UX patterns across Work Zone, BTP, and mobile applications
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and developers to align design with business and technical constraints
- Conduct usability testing and refine designs based on data and user feedback
- Support post‑go‑live enhancements through analytics and continuous improvement initiatives
