Overview

Software Engineer position on the Dragon Platform team, part of Microsoft Health and Life Sciences (HLS). The HLS Platform team builds a connected, cloud-based healthcare ecosystem on Microsoft Azure, aiming to empower clinicians, staff, and patients. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and product leaders to design, implement, and optimize backend services and user experiences that support commercial marketplace and admin tooling workflows.

Responsibilities

• Experience building and operating cloud services at scale, preferably on Azure, with knowledge of RESTful APIs, authentication flows (S2S, app‑only, delegated), no‑SQL database, micro‑service patterns, Kubernetes or container systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, with a commitment to continuous learning and delivering customer impact through engineering.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, distributed team environment.
• Collaboration with cross‑functional teams to define, design, implement, and troubleshoot complex cloud services and user experiences.
• Ownership of end‑to‑end delivery of features, from architecture to production monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• 2+ years of experience building and operating cloud services at scale, preferably on Azure.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, authentication flows (S2S, app‑only, delegated), no‑SQL databases, micro‑service patterns, Kubernetes or container systems.
• Proficiency in both English and French; strong communication in both languages is a bona fide occupational requirement.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

Salary and Benefits

The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $85,000 – CAD $166,800 per year.
