Transit Maintenance Shift Manager

Lead Victoria Regional Transit System maintenance as a Daily Shift Manager in Victoria, BC, supervising fleet repairs, operations, and safety.BC Transit seeks a creative leader for a nine-month full-time temporary assignment. Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance Operations, you will coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, support day-to-day decisions, and help keep enough buses ready for service. This on-site position requires five days weekly and varied shifts.Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily repair, operation, and maintenance activitiesOversee safety across a large unionized workforceExecute planned and reactive fleet maintenance activitiesOrganize repairs throughout the Victoria Regional Transit System fleetEnsure enough buses remain ready for daily operationRequirements:
Certified Tradesman or Maintenance Technician educationExperience leading teams in technical mechanical environmentsUnderstanding of heavy-duty or commercial transportation practicesAdvanced knowledge of CVSE and NSC regulationsExperience supervising or managing unionized workforcesApply maintenance leadership, mechanical knowledge, and conflict resolution skills to support safe, reliable BC Transit fleet operations.
