Donor Services Coordinator

Tyndale is a Christian university that prepares leaders for work in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, ministry and the global mission of the church. Tyndale offers fully accredited programs in a wide range of disciplines at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Currently, there are over 1,600 students representing over 90 denominations and 60 ethnic backgrounds and over 13,000 alumni. Founded in 1894, Tyndale is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Position Purpose

The Donor Services Coordinator supports the External Relations department through supporting the donor database; supporting the priorities, strategies, and communication flow process for managing donors within the department; and providing customer service to Tyndale’s alumni and donor community. 

Position Responsibilities

Donor and Alumni Relations 

• Liaise with alumni and donors to fulfill customer service needs (i.e. contact information updates, duplicate receipts, donations, credit card information updates etc.). 
• Create donor acknowledgements (letters, receipts, other correspondence as required) and update donor database accordingly. 
• Assist in the generation of annual reports for scholarship/award donors and foundations. 
• Provide event logistics assistance as needed. 

Data Management 

• Maintain integrity of donor database. 
• Create mailing lists for targeted alumni and donor segmentation to be used for Direct Mail, newsletters, event invitations, and student callers. 
• Develop reports and analysis as requested. 

Database User Support 

• Coordinate the input of donor and alumni information into database. 
• Provide basic training and ongoing support to employees using the CRM system, including assistance with data entry, system navigation and troubleshooting as needed. 
• Interface with and utilize the Marketing department to assist with improvements where appropriate.

External Relations Team Participation 

• Serve as a contributing member of the External Relations team. 
• Become familiar with Tyndale and the products that offered. 
• Be well-versed in department goals. 
• Participate in staff meetings. 

Position Qualifications

a) Education 

• Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting) 

b) Experience 

• Minimum of 3 years related experience 
• Familiarity with Canadian churches, denominations and Christian community 

c) Skills and Abilities 

• Strong inter-personal and customer service skills with ability to be persuasive, professional advocate for the organization 
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) 
• Strong organizational and administrative skills, with attention to detail, accuracy and ability to meet frequent deadlines 
• Strong understanding of fundraising database systems (e.g. Raisers Edge, Salesforce etc) 
• Strong computer skills, ability to use inter/search engines, computer programs/applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

e) Physical and Mental Demands 

• Standard office work environment 
• Moderate stress level may result from multiple project deadlines and multiple distractions

• Computer fatigue is possible

Salary Range: $22,800 to $24,000
