Kitchen Support Person

Williams Lake & District Seniors Centre is seeking a Kitchen Support Person.
Reports To: Manager, Seniors Centre
Location: Seniors Centre, 176 North 4th Avenue, Williams Lake
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm, July 6th to August 21st
Note: This term is a trial, there will be the possibility to extend based on performance.
Summary of Role:
The Kitchen Support Person assists the Manager & coordinates with the Food Security and Kitchen Directors. The Kitchen Support Person works with Volunteers in all aspects of running the kitchen’s lunch program and events at the Seniors’ Centre.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow work practices to ensure efficient delivery of food services;
- Co-ordinate volunteers for daily shifts;
- Assist in preparing meals, including helping with daily lunch program as well as managing ‘to-go’ program;
- Prepare Grocery List;
- Manage inventory;
- Clean Kitchen, pantry, kitchen equipment, and dining area;
- Manage waste removal;
- Keep records, e.g. temperature logs;
- Work with volunteers in a positive and respectful manner;
- Ensure a safe work place;
- Perform other related duties around the Centre as assigned by Manager;
- Work with Manager, Kitchen & Food Security Directors to manage food and cash donations efficiently.
