Seasonal Multi Site Relief Support Position

Job summary

• Provides intake services and monitors the well-being and safety of clients and community members across multiple residential sites.
• Maintains comfortable, clean, and safe living environments.
• Assists individuals in crisis by providing a variety of day-to-day physical, emotional, and social supports, life skills assistance, information, resources, and guidance, in accordance with organizational procedures.

Wage:$29.76 p/hr

Duties and Responsibilities by Site

1. Minimal Barrier Shelter – Support Worker

a) Primary functions:

• Maintain security and safety of the property
• Provide frontline support to shelter guests
• Monitor the safety and wellbeing of residents
• Conduct wellness checks and documentation
• Support de-escalation and conflict resolution
• Assist with intake procedures and daily routines
• Perform janitorial and sanitation duties throughout the facility
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards
• Serve meals/snacks as required
• Distribute harm reduction supplies in accordance with agency procedures
• Administer naloxone and respond to overdose emergencies when required
• Monitor and review security camera systems
• Communicate incidents and concerns to supervisors
• Complete shift notes and reporting

b) Environmental factors:

This is a fast-paced, high-interaction environment that supports individuals experiencing homelessness, substance use challenges, mental health concerns, and housing instability.

2. Transitional Housing – Security/Custodial Role

a) Primary functions:

• Maintain security and safety of the property
• Conduct routine building patrols
• Monitor guest and visitor activity
• Respond to disturbances and emergency situations
• Support tenant accountability and building rules
• Perform light custodial duties and sanitation tasks
• Monitor and review security camera systems
• Report maintenance concerns and safety hazards
• Complete incident reports and shift documentation
• Perform janitorial and sanitation duties throughout the facility

b) Environmental factors:

This is a structured housing environment that focuses on tenant stability, safety, and transitional support services.

3. Residential Care Facility – Support Worker

a) Primary functions:

• Maintain security and safety of the property
• Support residents with daily living routines
• Promote a respectful and supportive living environment
• Assist with meal preparation and household routines
• Monitor resident wellness and behavior
• Medication Administration
• Support medication reminders where applicable
• Monitor and review security camera systems
• Complete daily documentation and communication logs
• Assist with recreational and social programming
• Respond appropriately to crisis situations

b) Environmental factors:

Our supportive care-focused setting serves vulnerable individuals living with persistent mental health issues and Acquired Brain Injuries requiring ongoing structure and assistance.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Required Certifications:

• Valid Basic First Aid Certification
• Valid Food Safe Certification
• Ability to work all shifts (days, evenings, overnights)
• Ability to work independently and adapt to different environments
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Conditions of Employment

Flexibility is necessary and required. Schedules and assignments may change according to operational requirements and staffing needs across all sites for the following shifts, including weekends:

• · Call-out and relief coverage

Successful applicants will receive:

• · Mandatory 2-Day Agency Orientation
• · Two training shifts for each shift rotation (days, evenings, and overnights) at all three facilities
• · Site-specific onboarding and shadow training as required

This training structure is intended to ensure staff become comfortable with:

• Site routines and expectations
• Documentation procedures
• Safety protocols
• Shift responsibilities
• Team communication processes
• Crisis response procedures
• Security and camera monitoring systems
• Harm reduction and overdose response procedures

All days off will be provided in accordance with BC Employment Standards requirements.

Temporary position from May through August, with the potential for extension based on operational requirements and performance.

Scheduled days off will operate on a floating schedule based on operational needs and staffing requirements across all facilities.
