Interim Director, Supply Chain & Procurement

Reports to: General Manager

Duration: 12 Months (possibility of permanent)

Location: Mostly Remote with occasional travel to site

We are partnering with a large, complex, mining organization to appoint an Interim Director, Supply Chain & Procurement . This is a high-impact operational leadership mandate, focused on stabilizing and optimizing end-to-end procurement and supply chain functions in a dynamic environment. The role is ideal for an experienced leader who can quickly assess, streamline, and strengthen processes while ensuring continuity of operations.

The mandate

You will lead the procurement and supply chain function, working closely with senior operations and finance leadership to strengthen the organization’s capability across:

• End-to-end procurement, sourcing, and contract management
• Inventory planning, control, and optimization
• Warehousing, logistics, and distribution operations
• Supplier management, performance monitoring, and negotiations
• Supply continuity planning and risk mitigation
• Cost control, budgeting, and identification of efficiency opportunities

This role is both strategic and hands-requiring the ability to operate at a leadership level while actively supporting day-to-day operations and driving immediate improvements.

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience leading procurement and supply chain functions in a complex or asset-intensive environment.
• Strong understanding of sourcing, inventory management, logistics, and supplier governance.
• Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and in a hands-on capacity.
• Experience driving process improvements, cost optimization, and performance metrics (KPIs).
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across operations, finance, and leadership teams.
• A pragmatic and decisive leader who can deliver results quickly in an interim capacity
• 15 years of progressive supply chain experience with 5 years in a leadership role.
• Professional certifications are advantageous: CSCP, CPSM, or CIPS.
