A day in the life of a Floral Clerk:
Floral provides many opportunities for creative selling and design work. Our extensive inventory of fresh flowers, both cut and potted, continues to expand and change with the seasons. This is more than a flower shop. We offer many home décor and party items, as well as the chance for you to interact daily and personally with our customers.
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
Experience
- Previous Floral design and Plant care experience an asset
Key Responsibilities
- Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations
- Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
- Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway’s programs
- Process cash register payments by cash, cheque, credit card, gift card and debit
- Maintenance of inventory of fresh and potted product
- Receiving, stocking and merchandising of floral products
- Design and arrangement for customers based on their specifications
- Wrap product for display and final sale
- Prepare gift baskets and special orders

- Must be available to be scheduled anytime on Sunday (Alberta Only)
Physical Requirements

- Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds
- Constant standing and gripping
- Frequent hand coordination, bending, walking, squatting
- Frequent computer and point of sale system use
- Seldom lifting or carrying of up to 25-50 lbs including waist level and low level lifts
