The Rotman Full-Time MBA is Canada’s leading MBA program and has a proud history of pushing the boundaries of management education. With approximately 300 graduates each year, the Full-Time MBA team supports the country’s largest and most internationally diverse MBA program. The Full-Time MBA brings together a world-class research faculty with a core focus on incisive critical thinking, creativity and innovation, self development and leadership. The Full-Time MBA team is responsible for all aspects of the program from recruitment and admissions, financial aid, student engagement, registrarial services, and career services. 

The Office of Student Engagement supports students holistically in a range of activities/programs that include Student Life, Experiential Learning and International Experience. The primary role of the Assistant Director of Culture & Community is to manage the student experience of a section of students in the Full-Time MBA program (which includes academic advising, and all program supports leading to successful program matriculation). In this role, you will be part of an innovative, dynamic and collaborative team committed to delivering a transformational student experience.

The Rotman Full-Time MBA helps talented professionals to push their limits, expand their creativity, and develop their leadership and decision-making skills to their career to the next level. The Office of Student Engagement supports these MBA students through offering a holistic range of activities designed to encourage personal and professional development that include Student Advising, Mental Health and Wellness and Student Engagement.

The primary role of the Assistant Director of Culture & Community is to manage the student experience of a section of students in the Full-Time MBA program (which includes academic advising, and all program supports leading to successful program matriculation). In this role, you will be part of an innovative, dynamic and collaborative team committed to delivering a transformational student experience.

The Assistant Director of Culture & Community is responsible for strengthening and supporting the student club ecosystem and supporting program-wide student events, including pre-program activities, Orientation, and other key student engagementinitiatives. They will work closely with all student clubs and the Graduate Business Council to support the planning and execution of academic, professional, and social club events that foster student engagement, community, and belonging. They will also support student leaders involved in clubs, student governance, and other student-led initiatives.

Working alongside OSE staff, students, alumni this role will also help to activate events that build community, support aspects of the student club eco-system and assist students at key points along their journey at Rotman to ensure they can thrive in the MBA program.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as the first point of contact for program-related enquiries
• Advising students on program and/or course matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual's background
• Probing for information from students to identify learning and performance needs
• Developing student assessment plans to support student learning outcomes and competencies
• Assessing and determining benchmarks and metrics for student success programming activities
• Developing components of programs and initiatives that advance program objectives
• Fostering positive relationships with campus community

Essential Qualifications:

• Master's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years working in student support services
• Experience in Student academic advising
• Event planning for virtual and in-person events for large and small groups (from 5 to 300)
• Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in software such as MS Office suite, AirTable, Zoom and MS Teams with a keen interest in technology for student supports
• Demonstrated experience with ROSI,CRM and other records management systems
• Experience with communication software (Mail Chimp, Salesforce) or other e-communication tools
• Experience managing a range of stakeholder groups including faculty, staff and students while balancing different needs and priorities

Assets (Nonessential):

• Prior experience working with Graduate Business students and familiarity with the unique needs of international students in a global program
• Experience supporting students with accommodation and accessibility needs and familiarity with different health and wellness resources

USW Pay Band 14 -- $91,677. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $117,242. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
