SCOPE Reporting to the Senior Director, Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), the incumbent contributes to the enhancement of teaching and learning by supporting current institutional technologies, evaluating pedagogical needs, proposing new technological tools, providing essential guidance on matters related to digital accessibility and assistive technologies to support learning and leading faculty development initiatives to promote technology use in the classroom. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Research and evaluate technological tools including new technologies and plugins for existing technologies (such as Moodle, Zoom and YuJa) and make recommendations based on functional, pedagogical, legal, and privacy requirements.
• Act as an expert to other institutional units on current and future institutional tools. Identify new tools and plugins that will bring value and have positive impact on teaching and learning for Concordia faculty and students, including assistive technologies, and conduct tests on function and application of technology.
• Provide advice, information, and techno-pedagogical support, including change management and faculty development to faculty as needed
• Create and maintain updated educational resources such as: training sessions, guides, videos, etc. on the pedagogical aspects of institutionally supported technologies and guidelines for training teaching staff and CTL team.
• Clearly communicate technical concepts and their impacts to non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with Information Technology Services (IITS) and other working groups and units on the proposal and implementation of educational technology tools for teaching and learning, including assessing gaps, identifying improvement opportunities, and contributing to development projects.
• Stay abreast of current trends in educational technology, for example, generative artificial intelligence, in order ensure the university keeps pace with the emerging educational technology and trends; bring ideas forward.
• Stay current with Concordia's relevant academic, privacy, and procurement policies that inform teaching and learning strategies in order to recommend and implement technologies appropriately.
• Stay connected to the Moodle and other techno-pedagogical communities, locally and globally.
• Work with CTL, faculty and other institutional groups to identify the technological needs of faculty and students related to teaching and learning; where appropriate, collaborate with LITL team members/projects.
• Develop and lead training of CTL, LITL and IITS team members and teaching staff.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Senior Director, Centre for Teaching and Learning.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree in educational technology or related field with 2 to 4 years of experience of which at least 2 years working in a higher education context. PhD an asset.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an educational technology role at a university.
• Background or demonstrated interest in learning science or education an asset.
• Experience in developing training and support resources.
• Minimum 1 year in experience supporting the use of Moodle as an Instructor or Administrator. Certification in Moodle an asset.
• Experience with other LMS and proctoring systems an asset.
• Knowledge of learning barriers and application of assistive technology solutions
• Strong spoken and written English (level 4) and good French spoken (level 4)
• Solutions oriented, creative, resourceful and highly organized
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical and user experience concepts / issues to non-technical audiences, in an empathetic and accessible way
• Demonstrated ability to work well with people in a cross-functional team environment and across administrative boundaries, as well as to work well independently
• Dedicated lifelong learner who can demonstrate continuous commitment to professional and technical development
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, in an empathetic and accessible way.
• Knowledge of UX design to improve user experience with institutional technologies preferred.
