Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band 4, $27.803 to $32.537 (5 step range)
Reporting to the Provincial Manager, Financial Services, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for a variety of general accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciling general ledger accounts/bank statements, assists in maintaining the fixed asset ledger, as well as performing month/year end procedures which includes the generation and distribution of financial statements and financial analysis of accounts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Diploma in Business Administration/Accounting plus two (2) years previous relevant experience in a comparable accounting environment using financial software/systems; OR
- Accounting Certificate plus five (5) years previous relevant experience in a comparable accounting environment using financial software/systems. Experience:
- Previous experience in an accounting environment and using financial software/systems. Skills:
- Ability to apply basic accounting principles in order to perform basic accounting functions.
- Competent in the use of computers and Microsoft applications.
- Ability to operate all types of office equipment.
- Moderate judgment and problem solving skills are required to select the most appropriate action from a variety of alternatives.
- Ability to effectively communicate factual information both orally and in writing.
