Clinical Fellow - General Medicine/Rheumatology

The shift pattern for this post is full shift.

This is a Fixed term post for 6 months.

This full-time Specialty Registrar (ST4 level or above) GIM/Rheumatology post is available from August 2026 for 6 months. It is based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow and may include clinics at Gartnavel General Hospital and/or The New Victoria Hospital. There will be a requirement to contribute to the General Internal Medicine rota with shifts on rotation including evening, weekend and overnight work.

The Rheumatology department consists of a team of 9 Consultants, an Associate Specialist and a team of Clinical Nurse specialists. In addition to general rheumatology clinics, there are sub-speciality clinics in Seronegative/ Spondyloarthropathy, Connective Tissue Disease and in Early Arthritis. There will be opportunities for the successful candidate to develop skills in ultrasound. In this large busy teaching hospital, there is regular interface with Radiology and multiple other specialties.

Applicants should have completed a foundation scheme or have similar experience. Applicants must have MRCP from one of the Royal Colleges in the UK or hold similar qualification and have experience in General Medicine, and ideally some experience in Rheumatology although this is not essential. Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. (Licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post).

The successful applicant will take a full part in the Medical senior daytime and on-call rota (50% rota banding).

The CREST form must be completed by a consultant who has worked with you for a minimum continuous period of three months whole-time equivalent wholly within the 3.5 years prior to the advertised post start date for which you are applying.
