Manager, Commercial Finance (Strategic Finance)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Commercial Finance (Strategic Finance) based in Canada. This role sits within a Commercial FP&A team that serves as a key analytical engine for the business. You will help leadership understand revenue performance, identify trends, and make informed commercial decisions. The position combines recurring financial reporting with strategic analysis, executive communication, and cross-functional partnership. You will contribute to KPI reviews, Board-level materials, sales target-setting, and commercial incentive analysis. The role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence decisions through clear, data-driven insights. Accountabilities: As a Manager, Commercial Finance, you will own critical reporting processes while translating complex financial data into actionable insights for commercial leadership. You will work closely with Revenue, Sales Operations, and GTM teams to understand business drivers and ensure leadership has reliable information for in-quarter and longer-term decisions. - Own recurring revenue reporting workflows, including daily and weekly file maintenance, revenue trackers, attainment dashboards, and variance analysis. - Prepare and update executive materials for KPI reviews, Board presentations, and Senior Leadership Team meetings, including supporting data files. - Analyze revenue movements and provide concise commentary explaining the key drivers behind performance trends. - Support quarterly sales target-setting by assembling bottoms-up data, reconciling it with top-down forecasts, and highlighting risks and opportunities. - Lead the commercial commission review process, synthesizing attainment data and identifying trends that inform compensation and incentive decisions.

- Deliver ad-hoc analysis for Revenue, GTM, and Commercial leadership to support timely business decisions. - Maintain and continuously improve financial reporting infrastructure by increasing accuracy, reducing manual work, and improving consistency. - Partner with cross-functional teams to translate commercial and operational drivers into meaningful financial insights. - Apply rigorous quality checks to identify anomalies, verify data integrity, and ensure accurate, reliable deliverables. - Independently prioritize analyses and deliverables based on their potential impact on commercial leadership. Requirements The ideal candidate combines strong commercial finance expertise with advanced analytical capabilities, executive communication skills, and the ability to operate independently in a high-growth environment. You should be comfortable working with complex datasets, managing recurring reporting processes, and turning financial information into clear business narratives. - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience. - Strong experience in commercial finance or sales finance, preferably within a high-growth or ad tech environment. - Expert-level proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with the ability to independently build, troubleshoot, and maintain complex reporting models and files. - Strong data analysis skills and experience working across multiple data sources while reconciling discrepancies. - Demonstrated ability to prepare executive-level reporting, including KPI reviews, Board materials, and Senior Leadership Team presentations. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly and produce concise, insightful commentary. - Ability to quickly understand existing processes and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.
