Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform bookkeeping and financial analysis of financial statements
- Prepare client payrolls
- Prepare year-end financial statements in the form of a compilation
- Prepare corporate tax returns for companies
- Prepare year-end forms (T4, T5)
- Prepare individual tax returns
- Review the bookkeeping of junior technicians
- Prepare financial forecasts
- Prepare reports for management or the board of directors
Requirements
- At least 2 years of bookkeeping experience
- Experience in an accounting firm is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Sage 50 and/or QuickBooks (Intuit) is a plus
- Knowledge of Caseware/Caseview software is a plus
- Knowledge of Taxprep software is a plus
- Ability to identify accounting issues and resolve them efficiently
- Excellent customer service: attentive to client needs and effective communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Financial analysis skills
- Ability to make quick and effective decisions and demonstrate attention to detail
- Verbal and written communication skills in English and French
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to manage priorities and time effectively
- Independence
