Senior Backend Software Developer (6 Month, Contract)

The Dufresne Group is currently seeking an Intermediate Backend Software Developer (Contract, 6 months) for our eCommerce Team within our Home Office located at 147 Commerce Drive in Winnipeg, MB .

As an Intermediate Backend Software Developer you will be responsible for developing the backend system and working closely with our front-end development team to build and make changes that support our website, which is integrated with the Shopify Plus platform and other third-party systems.

As The Intermediate Backend Software Developer You Will

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performing backend services and APIs using .NET technologies.
• Provide estimations for requested features and work on Azure DevOps, following agile processes.
• Develop and maintain a Shopify App as a Shopify Sales Channel.
• Write, clean, and document code that is easy to follow, modular in design, and follows best practices.
• Set up, configure, and build complex databases, including data structure normalization, query optimization, security, and integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address system bottlenecks, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities and provide technical support where required.

As a Successful Candidate You Will Have The Following

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in computer science, programming, software development or a related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
• 5+ years of experience in ASP.NET, .NET Core, MVC and entity framework, C# for back-end development is an asset.
• Strong proficiency with C# and.NET framework, with experience in ASP.NET, Web API, and Entity Framework.
• Familiarity with database design, optimization, and querying using SQL Server or similar databases.
• Understanding of the Shopify API, or the ability to learn the Shopify API quickly is required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS is an asset.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Works well in a team environment and effectively collaborates on complex projects.
• Critical thinker and problem solver, with strong attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Hybrid In Office/Work from Home.
