YOUR ROLE AS A AS/400 PROGRAMMER-ANALYST:
As an AS/400 Programmer-Analyst, you will play a central role in the analysis, development, integration, and support of critical business applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. Working closely with cross-functional departmental teams, you will design effective solutions and ensure the seamless evolution of our core systems. In this AS/400 Programmer-Analyst role, you will participate in the entire application lifecycle—from initial requirements gathering through to production—ensuring maximum system performance, reliability, and code quality across the enterprise.

Responsibilities
•Analyze departmental business needs and recommend high-impact technological solutions as a lead AS/400 Programmer-Analyst.
•Design, develop, test, and maintain robust business applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform.
•Program primarily in RPG III, RPG IV, RPGLE, and SQL.
•Perform functional and technical analyses for complex system change requests and continuous improvement projects.
•Develop and maintain automated interfaces across various internal and external systems.
•Provide advanced, high-level support to end-users, diagnosing and resolving application and performance issues efficiently.
•Conduct unit, integrated, and validation testing while creating and maintaining thorough technical and functional documentation.
•Collaborate closely with IT teams, business users, and external partners to drive system evolution.

Qualifications
Required:
•DEC or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
•Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in analysis and development on the IBM i (AS/400) platform.
•Strong proficiency in RPG III, RPG IV, RPGLE, and SQL.
•Solid practical working knowledge of DB2 databases.
•Proven experience in business process analysis, writing functional/technical specifications, and supporting critical production applications.
•Outstanding analytical skills, initiative, strong management of priorities, and excellent communication/collaboration skills.

Nice to Have / Qualities:
•Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
•Knowledge of system integration tools and methodologies (e.g., EDI, APIs).
•Exposure to project management and continuous improvement practices.
