Sales Manager (Retail)

Macdonald Search Group is partnering with a B.C. food manufacturer, distributor & protein supplier serving B.C.’s retail industry, and we’re looking for a dynamic Sales Manager to lead the next phase of growth.


The ideal candidate is an experienced CPG sales leader with a strong understanding of consumer products and understands the complexities of bringing products to market through multiple retail channels. You are skilled in both strategy and execution, you communicate well, you are passionate about mentoring sales teams and you leverage data to inform business decisions and strategy.


In the role, you will lead the retail sales team, and establish clear priorities and standards of execution. You will own and execute the retail sales strategy across butcher shops, regional and national accounts. You will also translate company objectives into annual sales plans and will lead or support relationships with key customers.

You analyze opportunities beyond revenue, recommending the right commercial, operational, and strategic path forward. You will represent the company with credibility across independent retailers, national accounts, distributors, brokers, and internal leadership. You communicate clearly, drive accountability, identify risks early, and secure alignment before customer commitments.


What You’ll Bring
✅ 4–6+ years of progressive experience in Food / CPG / Meat
✅ 3+ years of formal people leadership experience
✅ Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
✅ Passion for coaching, mentoring & developing sales teams
✅ Data-driven approach to decision-making and commercial strategy
