MechanicalEngineer
to join our Calgary (or Edmonton) based buildings engineering team. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience (minimum 10 years) to contribute to a mature but growing mechanical team in Calgary. This opportunity will require extensive experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design. You will lead projects across various sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, educational, government, healthcare, and recreational facilities, while also fostering client relationships.You will have the opportunity to take part in our hybrid work model that includes flexible work hours, working from home and in our Calgary or Edmonton office.Primary ResponsibilitiesContribute to the growing mechanical practice in Calgary or Edmonton, leveraging your experience to date and the expertise available in other locations across CIMA+Directly engage with clients to understand project needs and maintain strong business relationshipsParticipate in business development activities through the Alberta areaAs the team grows, contribute to the development of the mechanical engineering group's technical expertise in order to meet our clients' needsAnalyze and solve complex problems, identify appropriate work methods and guidelines, and coordinate project completionAssist in the supervision and management of the mechanical engineering team members, including engineers, technicians, and support staffEvaluate technical work, delegate responsibilities and provide instructions.Make recommendations regarding the selection of new employees in the recruitment process, training, performance evaluation and compensation managementPrepare and reply to proposals in collaboration with the team assigned to this taskQualifications
Eligible for membership with APEGA – P.Eng. or P.L.Eng.Over 10 years' experience in mechanical engineering in the buildings sectorExperience in managing teams of professional engineers is an assetKnowledge and experience in the consulting engineering market and with clients in Calgary and surrounding areaDemonstrate a commitment to client service that is second to none.Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is requiredAdvanced knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is an assetExperience mentoring junior technical staff is an assetIntegrity, team spirit, and a commitment to excellenceWhy choose CIMA+?
