Job Responsibility:

Primary Duties:

• Works with customers, corporate personnel, and plant personnel to develop quality control and quality improvement programs, procedures, and practices. Works with other plant management to assure that quality of product is a priority.
• Audits all production processes, equipment, and employee performances to assure that all prescribed quality procedures are adhered to without compromise. Selects, develops, trains, motivates, and appraises subordinate personnel to provide for a competent work force.
• Contacts customers regarding quality problems. Complaints are investigated; cause of non-conforming quality is determined and a corrective action to resolve problems is initiated, so that customer needs and concerns are satisfied.
• Manages supplier quality to include glass and components.
• Supports Quality Circle process. Complete Quality Reports as required.
• NMI support for customer approval process and safe launch criteria. Manages the Ambassador program serving customer plants.
• Ensures compliance to IATF 16949 standards. Contacts IATF 16949 registrar to report (within 5 working days) when the plant is put on one of the containment statuses listed in the IATF 16949 manual.
• Active member of the plant leadership team to assure annual budgets are achieved, plant performance is continually improved, and customer expectations are achieved.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
• 5+ years related experience in an automotive manufacturing facility or Tier1 supplier
• Internal Auditor experience and/or certification
• Prior experience with Quality Tools: APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and PPAP
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities

Qualifications Desired:

• Previous experience in glass or plastic injection molding
• Previous experience in a leadership/supervisory position
