Principal Platform Engineer At Skywatch

SkyWatch Space Applications Inc.

Lead the charge in platform engineering with SkyWatch, where innovation meets satellite data. As a Principal Platform Engineer, you will directly impact customer experiences in a hybrid work environment.
As a vital member of our team, your engineering expertise will guide the platform architecture and influence product strategies. You will closely engage with customers, transforming their feedback into actionable roadmap items, while also taking a hands-on approach to design and oversee platform improvements. Your leadership will not only elevate engineering standards but also significantly enhance user experience.
Key Responsibilities: - Engage with customers to refine platform roadmap - Shorten feedback-to-production timelines significantly - Ensure high standards for user experience and API design - Drive architecture decisions for image processing and AI products - Manage the engineering lifecycle using AI tools
Requirements: - 10+ years of software engineering experience - 3+ years in a technical leadership role - Proven experience with cloud infrastructure and APIs - Knowledge of geospatial data and imagery processing - Strong understanding of business trade-offs in development
