Hours: 35 hours per week (1) one-hour lunch; Mon to Fri (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) some evening and weekend work will be required

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Student Recruitment, the Senior Recruitment Officer is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining DC’s Non-direct Recruitment strategy to achieve domestic student recruitment and enrolment goals as defined by Durham College’s Enrolment Management Plan.
Primarily focused on growing the non-direct student market, including equity-deserving populations, the Senior Recruitment Officer plays a pivotal role in shaping the institution’s public image, engaging with the broader community, driving prospective student interest, applications and enrolment through strategic communication and outreach efforts by ensuring the success of the non-direct recruitment strategies. This would include developing and nurturing relationships and scheduling visits with community partners, liaising with stakeholders and agencies, and maintaining and presenting up-to-date knowledge of full-time programs and services.
The incumbent collaborates with the recruitment team to develop and customize the plan to reach non-direct prospective students with a goal of generating leads and applications to full-time programs. They will also coordinate content for presentations, brochures, website, webinars and the CRM to effectively promote the college and its full-time programs and services.
Additional responsibilities include oversight and implementing on an ongoing basis, an effective lead generation plan to produce a healthy application pool that will support meeting college enrolment targets; advising the recruitment team on the plan to reach application goals; liaising and developing strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and community organizations; and influencers of non-direct learners. In addition, the incumbent will maintain up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of the programs and services of the college and is responsible for regularly reporting on the status of the Non-direct Strategy and its success.
The incumbent is responsible for supporting and mentoring student recruitment officers in developing their knowledge and skills to effectively communicate with and recruit the non-direct audience.
The incumbent will have the responsibility to:
- Take a lead role in scheduling and identifying non-direct related activities.
- Provide recommendations on where DC should be represented on external sites or assets related to the non-direct learner demographic.
- Identify opportunities and oversee initiatives to generate applications from the non-direct market.
- Implement innovative sales and relationship-building strategies related to achieving the goals of the Non-direct Recruitment Strategy.
- Implement initiatives within college events to benefit and meet the needs of non-direct learners.
- Identify opportunities and participate in non-direct market recruiting activities such as job fairs, community employment agencies, adult learning facilities, webinars, and visits to community partners and employers, including making all travel arrangements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop recruitment-focused activities and events designed specifically for the non-direct market.
- Represent the college on committees/functions to establish working relationships (e.g. Ontario School Counselors Association, Liaison and Recruitment Sub-committee, Non-direct Working Groups, etc.).
- Respond to correspondence: email, live chat and telephone calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct one-on-one phone or video meeting appointments to guide and advise prospective students, teachers or guidance counsellors.
- Leverage social media channels to connect with non-direct prospects and related stakeholders.
- Maintain a tracking system for non-direct leads, applications, and first-choice applications and assess various levels of ROI for activities.
- Develop and guide a portion of the annual comprehensive training program for the recruitment team as it relates to recruiting non-direct learners.
- Generate data-centric reports using internal and external sources, including but not limited to OCAS Data Warehouse and Salesforce to identify trends, inform recommendations and decision-making.
- Regularly report on the measurement of the plan and ways to make continuous improvements on ROI.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a 3-year diploma/degree in marketing, business, advertising, communications or related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years related experience in a post-secondary environment with knowledge of trends in student recruitment, sales and marketing is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Highly effective at providing strategic recommendations.
- Excellent oral and public speaking skills.
- Working knowledge of CRM tools for sales and marketing (Salesforce is preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and excellent multi-tasking skills.
- Proven ability to develop, plan and implement strategies and report on success tied to data.
- Able to work occasional weekends and evenings.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity.
- A valid G driver's license and the ability to travel independently.
