Lease Accounting Specialist

Job Responsibility:
We are seeking a Lease Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic and ever-evolving team at SCI Lease Corp. As a Lease Accounting Specialist, you will help various teams provide optimal customer experience throughout the customer's lease journey. You will be juggling disparate tasks daily to review and analyze complex business scenarios. You will play a key role in closing accounts in the leasing management system.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide ongoing support to various teams on a day-to-day basis.
- Assist in information gathering and reporting to different departments to enable them to provide better customer service.
- Provide files and reports as requested to support various reporting.
- Respond to information requests from internal team members and help them understand the financial transactions that has happened on the accounts.
- Apply payments received and chargeable items in internal account management system and ensure accuracy.
- Review various exception scenarios related to payouts, buyouts, lease maturity payments, insurance claims and ensure correctness of receivables and payables.
- Review excess amount received from the customer, dealers or other entities and process refunds in a timely manner.
- Work with various business teams in case of exception scenarios and resolve in a timely manner.
- Leave detailed notes of all interactions and activity within the lease management system
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONSSKILLS required
- Great with numbers with accounting mindset
- Able to crunch numbers and review various data from different spreadsheets.
- Detail oriented, organized, flexible and able to multi-task (this role requires handling a broad range of task types)
- Advanced knowledge in excel and any reporting tool.
- Fundamental computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PDF writer
- Excellent grasp of phone and email etiquette
- Ability to build and maintain relationships
- Ability to develop and execute new ideas
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in customer service an asset
- Automotive or Finance industry experience an asset
- Experience using enterprise systems - Lease/loan management systems an asset
- Business/Accounting Degree an asset
- Experience working in Excel and reporting tools an asset
- 3+ years of experience in similar field
EDUCATION
- Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
