Senior Engineer for Insurance Platform Innovation
Instant Risk Coverage
Lead the evolution of insurance technology at Instant Risk Coverage as a Senior Core Platform Engineer. Focus on API development while working hybrid from Toronto. This role is central to establishing the technological foundations of our platform. We're on the lookout for a Senior Engineer with extensive background in backend development and integration-layer systems. You'll leverage your skills in Node.js, TypeScript, and various integration methods to create cohesive connections that benefit customers and partners alike. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement core APIs and interfaces
- Handle architectural and service boundary decisions
- Coordinate integrations with external service providers
- Balance engineering quality and speed effectively
- Guide and mentor junior engineers through code reviews
- 6-10 years of backend engineering experience
- Deep knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript
- Understanding of REST, GraphQL, and webhooks
- Familiar with relational databases like PostgreSQL
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional work
