Community Employment Retention Specialist

Empower your community as a Community Employment Retention Specialist with the YMCA of the National Capital Region. The ideal candidate will provide crucial support in employment consulting, focusing on clients facing barriers to employment. You'll manage assessments, maintain strong relationships with employers, and oversee job retention efforts for participants. Your work will significantly impact the clients’ career progression and overall well-being. Key Responsibilities:
- Guide clients in establishing effective workplace behaviours
- Collaborate with employers to facilitate job placements
- Develop tailored training plans and agreements
- Liaise continuously with clients and employer contacts
- Conduct outreach to community resources and programs
- A degree or diploma relevant to employment services
- Proven experience in employment counselling
- Strong skills in case management and data entry
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and databases
- Ability to engage a variety of clients from diverse backgrounds
