Hatch is a full‑service consultancy seeking a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer/Systems Integration Leader to join our North American Infrastructure group in the Systems Integration and Assurance team in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Reporting to the Director, Systems Integration & Assurance, the role involves leading systems engineering, integration, and assurance on large‑scale rail developments as part of Hatch’s global Systems Integration and Assurance practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead project delivery of railway solutions.
• Provide technical design and implementation integration leadership.
• Interface with RAM, systems assurance, and overall program safety activities within the systems engineering lifecycle.
• Lead and guide staff and consultants to deliver high‑quality technical services.
• Manage lifecycle engineering activities, changes, client relations, and project management of systems components to ensure quality, client satisfaction and profitability.
• Assist in client pursuits, relationship building, technical practice development, and recruiting of staff in rail and rail systems areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Professional engineering (P.Eng.) license.
• 10+ years of progressive rail systems engineering experience.
• Knowledge of US (FTA & FRA), CENELEC, and ISO rail delivery standards and practices.
• Experience delivering in both brown and green‑field rail environments, including staged migration from legacy systems.
• Thorough knowledge of systems engineering and systems integration in the railway environment.
• Detailed understanding of rail operations, stations, track, and civil aspects of the railway as they relate to integration of rail systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience training and developing staff and educating clients.

Base salary range: $180,000 - $200,000 annually.
