The café portion of Gordon's will provide a variety of pre-made and fresh food options with a full espresso bar that will also be licensed to sell alcohol. Position Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Grocery Floor Supervisor to join Gordon's. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the grocery floor and play a key part in ensuring that our customers have a positive shopping experience.
Grocery Floor Supervisor Responsibilities
- Delegate daily tasks to staff and ensure they follow through accordingly.
- Plan, merchandise and stock aisles and displays appropriately.
- Work with Grocery Assistant Manager to track and order product as needed.
- Rotate products accordingly and ensure floor staff do the same.
- Prepare and update proper operational procedures such as opening and closing duties.
- Assist with scheduling of staff.
- Train new staff on all processes.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, locating products, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction to foster customer loyalty.
- Operate cash registers accurately and efficiently, processing transactions, handling cash, refunds and providing change to customers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization on the grocery floor.
- Assist with receiving shipments, verifying merchandise, and storing products in designated areas.
- Follow all food safety protocols, health and safety requirements, cash handling, initiatives, cleanliness guidelines and all other company policies and procedures.
- Work closely with Grocery Assistant Manager to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous grocery supervisory experience required.
- Previous grocery merchandizing and product rotating experience required.
- Strong communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Valid Smart Serve is required.
