For over 40 years, Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada (BTFC) has been dedicated to supporting, educating, and empowering everyone affected by a brain tumour while funding research and advocating for better outcomes. The Role

The Senior Digital Specialist provides strategic and operational leadership for Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada’s digital properties including all websites, SEO optimization and strategies, email marketing, social media and advertising. They will use their creative skills to support photography and video production and when appropriate work with design, photography and videography partners and suppliers. The Senior Digital Specialist will value analysis, testing and segmentation to improve outcomes.

As a senior member of the Marketing & Communications team, the Specialist will report to the Manager, Marketing & Communications and assist with the oversight of digital projects created by the entire team.

Key Responsibilities

Project development and management

• Take the lead on developing plans for the Foundation’s digital projects and platforms and plans for the Foundation in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team including the redevelopment of the Foundation’s main website all in an effort to improve user experience.
• Strategically develop and oversee the implementation of digital plans to support development, programs and services, volunteer recruitment, strategic plan and revenue goals.
• Oversee all ongoing digital channels and plans coordinated by team members to achieve strategic plan, fundraising and revenue goals.
• Serve as project manager for any Foundation-wide digital initiatives including the development of new websites.
• Support organizational campaigns and projects with a coordinated approach to digital communication.

Content development

• In collaboration with team members support the development and distribution of email marketing plans to support events, fundraising, programs and services and grants.
• Coordinate and implement email marketing efforts specific to publications, fundraising and programs and services.
• Strategically build the Foundation’s photo and video library through strategic photo shoots and video development, and when appropriate partner with outside suppliers to develop collateral.
• Develop all video scripts in collaboration with members of the Foundation team.
• Oversee the Foundation’s social media strategy and calendar implementation.
• Develop digital advertising plan and manage to support conversions and revenue generation.
• Contribute to and oversee the Foundation’s email marketing needs by providing expertise in design, copy development, segmentation, and testing.

Testing, analytics and performance indicators

• Develop testing goals for email marketing programs.
• Analyze and adjust digital marketing engagement across platforms and in advertising to increase conversions and revenue.
• Develop digital performance indicators, goals and metrics for digital properties and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.

Internal coordination and partnerships

• Work closely with Foundation teams to achieve project and revenue goals.
• Provide digital expertise, strategy and advise to Foundation teams to maximize digital engagement.
• Support CEO with social media presence in support of brand development.

Collaboration and cross-organizational alignment

• Perform other duties as assigned to support the Foundation’s priorities and operations.
• Attend Foundation events as required and serves as a key ambassador for the organization.
• Model and promote the principles of the Foundation’s Collaboration Charter in all interactions, decisions, and working relationships.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• 5-7 years experience planning, developing and managing digital properties including websites, social media, email marketing and advertising.
• Experience working as a project manager for the development of websites; preference given to those who have developed websites for not-for-profit organizations.
• Experience with WordPress or other CMS; knowledge of HTML, CSS and some programming an asset.
• Experience in the development, coordination and oversight of strategic social media strategies and plans, managing content flows, calendars and posts.
• Experience in developing strategic digital advertising (social and google ad words) plans to increase engagement and conversions and fundraising revenue.
• Strong hands-on experience with email marketing platforms including content development, segmentation, testing, and design.
• Proven experience in tracking and evaluating digital properties for marketing results through platforms such as Google analytics and others.
• Experience with photography and videography development and usage.
• Current on the latest trends, best practices and emerging technologies to support concepts in support the
• Strong organizational and analytical skills and proven ability to manage multiple complex projects at one time.
• Solutions oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Service oriented with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills and the ability to influence colleagues to execute national events.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working within an organization with a national focus, staff, volunteers and board members.
• Criminal Record Check Level 2 required.

Annual Salary: $68,000 - $80,000
