Senior Business Analyst - Technical

Role focus: Lead business analysis for customer-facing website improvements while supporting Power Platform, reporting and smaller technology projects from discovery through rollout.

Role Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Technical Business Analyst with strong website and digital delivery experience. The successful candidate will translate business goals and user needs into clear requirements, coordinate delivery across internal teams, and support solutions through testing, launch and sustainment.

The role will also support Microsoft Power Platform and data initiatives, including Power Apps and Power BI, and will lead smaller projects or workstreams. Strong business judgement, initiative and practical project management skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Website and Digital Experience

• Partner with Marketing, Operations and IT stakeholders to lead website improvements initiatives.
• Gather and document customer, business, content, accessibility, data and technical requirements for website enhancements and larger website initiatives.
• Build, maintain and prioritize the website backlog in partnership with Marketing and Operations teams.
• Translate business objectives into process flows, user journeys, user stories and clear acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate website design, content, development, integration, testing and rollout activities across business and technical teams.
• Plan and support user acceptance testing, defect triage, release readiness, launch communications and post-launch validation.

Power Platform, Power Apps and Power BI

• Lead business analysis for Microsoft Power Platform solutions, with a focus on Power Apps and Power BI.
• Define requirements, data needs, user roles, security considerations, workflows, reports and success measures for Power Apps solutions.
• Work with business users and technical teams to define Power BI reporting needs, metrics, data sources, dashboard requirements and validation criteria.
• Create or support prototypes, testing, rollout, documentation and end-user training for Power Apps and Power BI solutions.
• Use SQL, Excel and Power BI to analyze information, develop ad hoc reporting, and support user inquiries.
• Work with business and technical teams to improve data quality, data definitions and reporting consistency.
• Help document business rules, KPIs and data ownership across reporting solutions.
• Help ensure Power Platform solutions follow organizational standards and can be supported after launch.

Project Management and Coordination

• Lead smaller projects or defined workstreams from initiation through closeout, with accountability for scope, schedule, risks, issues, dependencies and outcomes.
• Create practical project plans, clarify roles and responsibilities, track milestones and follow up on commitments.
• Coordinate internal teams, vendors and business stakeholders, and escalate decisions or delivery risks when needed.
• Prepare concise project updates for working teams and leaders, including progress, decisions, risks and next steps.
• Manage several priorities at the same time while maintaining quality, transparency and momentum.

Experience and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Science, a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst supporting technology initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience delivering customer-facing website or digital experience initiatives with Marketing and technical teams.
• Practical experience leading smaller projects or workstreams and coordinating cross-functional delivery.
• Experience working with third-party vendors and consulting partners is an asset.
• Experience in the multi-family, real estate, property management or multi-site service industry is an asset.

Technical and Business Analysis Skills

• Strong knowledge of requirements elicitation, process modelling, stakeholder analysis, gap analysis, root cause analysis, user journeys, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Solid understanding of website platforms, content-driven experiences, integrations, analytics, accessibility, testing and release processes.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Apps and Power BI, including translating business needs into application, workflow, data and reporting requirements.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, joins and nested queries, and strong Excel skills.
• Ability to analyze and visualize information from multiple sources and explain findings in plain language.
• Experience working with Agile teams, backlog refinement and collaborative delivery tools such as Azure DevOps is an asset.
• Basic understanding of artificial intelligence and emerging technology trends and their potential business impact.

Project Management Skills

• Working knowledge of project planning, scope management, scheduling, risk and issue management, dependency tracking, change management and status reporting.
• Ability to organize work, facilitate decisions and keep cross-functional teams aligned on priorities, owners and deadlines.
• Experience supporting budgeting, vendor coordination, resource planning or project governance is an asset.
