About the Opportunity

• Preparing monthly bank reconciliations for general and trust accounts;
• Supporting trust accounting processes, including client/matter-level records and monthly trust reconciliations;
• Maintaining accurate and organized bookkeeping records;
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable;
• Preparing and issuing client invoices;
• Supporting collections and follow-up on outstanding accounts;
• Processing payroll and related remittances;
• Recording deposits, disbursements, client payments, and firm expenses;
• Running financial and management reports as required;
• Preparation and submission of HST related filings with the CRA as required;
• Supporting the external accountant with month-end, year-end, and tax-related information requests;
• Maintaining confidentiality of client, firm, and financial information;
• Assisting with file and matter administration where required;
• Identifying discrepancies, control issues, or unusual items and escalating them promptly;
• Performing other related duties as assigned by the partners or Office Manager, and CFO.

About You

• 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience;
• Experience in a law firm, accounting firm, or professional services environment preferred;
• Familiarity with law firm trust accounting strongly preferred;
• Strong understanding of bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general bookkeeping;
• Experience with Xero, QuickBooks, Clio, PCLaw, Soluno, Cosmolex, or similar accounting/legal practice management software is an asset;
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills;
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy;
• Strong organizational and time-management skills;
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• High degree of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.

Pay Range
$60,000 - $70,000 per year
