Senior Engineer in Payment Architecture

Become a key player in Lightspeed's Payments team as a Senior Engineer specializing in system architecture. Lead the design and implementation of systems that manage millions of transactions daily. We are looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer based in Canada to own the architectural delivery of mission-critical payment systems. Advocate for AI-enabled processes and help guide your team from experimentation to successful production. Your role will bridge cross-functional teams and elevate engineering standards while ensuring high-quality software delivery. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical delivery of payment systems at scale
- Define modern standards for resilient deployments
- Move efficiently from POC to production with clear trajectories
- Shape product strategy and manage technical roadmaps
- Coach engineers to foster skill and knowledge growth
- Significant experience leading large-scale system failures
- Proficiency in complex system architectures
- Experience with AI-driven coding practices
- Strong communication to simplify technical concepts
- Fintech experience is a bonus
