Reporting to the President, the QA Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering a quality assurance program for fresh flowers to assure the highest possible, and most consistent standard of quality.

Key duties of the role:

• In conjunction with the President, develop and implement, written standards of quality for all flowers, greens and plants sold.
• Supervise and carry out day-to-day quality control in operations, product inventory and sales.
• Assist in the evaluating of products and varieties for long life, hardiness and other factors that may determine which products are most reliable and best for sale.
• Plan and manage the day-to-day product quality check in the cooler to ensure only the highest standard of quality is being displayed to our customers. Spot check received flowers/greens and picked orders.
• Consistent communication with the Flower Buyers regarding inventory levels, quality of product received, purchasing volumes, discounts, and decisions regarding discarded or discounted product.
• Complete required documentation for discarded flowers/greens
• Assist with customer complaints regarding product quality.
• Responsible for the overall appearance of the flower cooler, including daily and seasonal layout of the cooler.
• Provide sales and customer service to our “walk in” customers. Be available to assist and answer questions when required.
• Work with Sales & Marketing Manager to ensure Sales Representatives manage their sold sections.
• Work the President and HR to handle employee scheduling, overtime approval, absences, vacations, etc., discipline, reporting and communicating both departmental and company policies.
• Accountable for effectively communicating with Flower Purchasing, Sales, Flower Operations, and Flower Picking regarding quality concerns and issues.
• Lead by example, consistently portraying a positive image, encouraging team members, and boosting morale.
• Ensure that all tasks are performed in a safe manner and that safety is always foremost in the minds of co-workers.
• Other duties as may be required.

Key skills and qualifications you must possess:

• In depth knowledge of all varieties of flowers and greens (understand the life span of the various blooms)
• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience within a wholesale/retail floral environment with a demonstrated ability to lead by example and be hands-on to meet demands and deadlines.
• Superior prioritizing, communication, and people skills with the ability to execute tasks with knowledge and confidence.
• Excellent computer skills including Word, Outlook, and Excel, capable of learning a customized database.
• Outstanding time management, organizational and administrative skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, and partner with team members and other departments.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a cool/refrigerated environment.
• Ability to repetitively lift buckets of water & flowers and boxes of greens.
• Good hand/eye coordination, ability to read labels and sku's.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

• 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

Experience:

• Supervisory/Management: 2 years (preferred)
