Become a part of North Island Hospital Comox Valley as an Emergency Medicine Physician, offering both part-time and full-time opportunities. Utilize your skills in a fully operational emergency department. North Island Hospital Comox Valley is seeking versatile Emergency Medicine Physicians equipped to provide essential care in our 24-hour Emergency Department. Candidates must possess the required ACLS, ATLS, and CPSBC license, as well as holding a CCFP or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine. This role includes responding to emergencies and teaching within our Family Practice Residency Program, with an emphasis on trauma care and quality initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver emergency medical services in a 24-hour setting
- Attend cardiac arrest events and respond to code calls
- Collaborate with a wide range of medical specialists
- Participate actively in trauma care until transfer
- Provide education and mentorship for residents and students
- Current CPSBC license required for practice
- Essential ACLS and ATLS certifications needed
- CCFP-EM or FRCPC certification preferred
- Commitment to quality improvement and collaboration
- Experience in an emergency care environment considered an asset
