POSITION SUMMARY
The Pharmacy Assistant supports the efficient day-to-day operations of a centralized pharmacy serving The Bethany
Group's Type A Continuing Care sites. Working under the clinical direction of the Pharmacist, this role provides
administrative, distribution, and inventory support to ensure safe, accurate, and timely medication supply for clients.
Key functions include processing medication and supply orders, maintaining inventory and documentation systems,
preparing and packaging ward stock, and coordinating deliveries to assigned sites. The Pharmacy Assistant contributes to an
organized, compliant, and efficient pharmacy environment that supports the provision of clinical pharmacy services led by
the Pharmacist.
QUALIFICATIONS
(Education; Experience/Training; Knowledge; Licenses/Certificates; Membership Requirements)
- High School Diploma required
- Minimum one to two years of related pharmacy or healthcare support experience preferred, ideally in a continuing care
setting
- Experience with inventory control and ordering processes is an asset
- Valid Class 5 Drivers' License
REQUIREMENTS
• Prepares, packages, and distributes ward stock and medication supplies for various continuing care sites
- Coordinates and completes deliveries to assigned sites in a timely and organized manner
- Maintains accurate records for inventory, audits, and medication tracking, including basic mathematical calculations
- Conducts routine inventory counts, including narcotic counts, in accordance with established procedures
- Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Mandatory LAPP membership for permanent Part-time and Full-time employees that work a 0.7 FTE or greater (see policy FS 03-04)
