Director, Water and Wastewater Services

The Regional Municipality of Durham invites applications for the Director of Environmental Services. You will lead a mission-critical department managing a $16 billion infrastructure and a dedicated workforce while ensuring accountability in regulatory compliance and public health safety. This role prioritizes developing a succession plan to meet the needs of a rapidly expanding region. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide executive direction for water and wastewater management
- Oversee six divisions ensuring public safety
- Manage significant budgets related to operations
- Advance SCADA systems and cybersecurity strategies
- Build leadership capacity within your teams
- Engineering degree required; MBA preferred
- P.Eng. accreditation and 20+ years of experience
- Proven track record in complex compliance environments
- Strong asset management and capital project experience
- Leadership experience in large teams and stakeholder relations
