• Schedule: 14 days on / 14 days off; days and nights as required 

Position Overview  

1911 Gold Corporation is seeking experienced Shaft Personnel to support safe, efficient shaft and hoisting operations at the True North Mine. This cross-trained role includes cage and skip tending, personnel and material movement, inspections, maintenance support, rigging, and general shaft activities. Camp accommodations and meals are provided, with transportation coordinated from designated travel points. 

Key Responsibilities  

Cage Operations 

• Perform cage-tending and skip-tending duties and communicate with Hoist Operators using approved signaling systems. 
• Safely coordinate the movement of personnel, ore, waste, materials, supplies, and equipment. 

Skip Tending 

• Operate and inspect station gates, barriers, loading systems, chutes, conveyances, and related shaft equipment. 
• Monitor material flow and address or report blockages, spills, defects, downtime, and abnormal conditions. 

Shaft maintenance 

• Perform shaft maintenance, rope cuts/maintenance, guide maintenance, shutdowns,
• Rigging/slinging of oversized materials or non-routine equipment moves. 

Expectations 

• Complete hazard assessments, workplace inspections, shift logs, and handovers. 
• Maintain housekeeping and comply with company procedures, safe work practices, and regulatory requirements. 
• Be a safety leader in the workplace 
• Team player 

Qualifications  

• At least 2 years of underground mining or relevant industrial experience. 
• Experience with shaft hoisting, material handling, hard-rock mining, or a related shaft role is preferred. 
• Knowledge of shaft signaling, cage and skip operations, rigging, lifting, and hazard recognition. 
• Mechanical aptitude, sound judgment, attention to detail, and strong communication and teamwork skills. 
• WHMIS, Fall Protection, Confined Space, First Aid/CPR, Mine Rescue, and rigging or shaft-slinging training are assets. 

Working Conditions  

• Able to perform physically demanding work in underground, elevated, and confined areas. 
• Comfortable working at heights 
• Able to lift and carry materials, climb ladders, and wear required personal protective equipment. 
• Comfortable working rotational shifts in a remote, camp-based environment.
