Sr. .NET Developer

Our client is undergoing a major modernization initiative within a core business platform. The organization is replacing a mission-critical legacy VB6 system and transitioning it to a modern .NET 10 solution. This is not simply a code conversion project. The team needs a Developer who can modernize legacy business functionality, convert legacy services into scalable API-driven architecture, validate and challenge architectural decisions, improve development standards, mentor junior developers, and bridge the gap between Architecture and Development teams. The objective is to ensure the modernized platform delivers the same or better functionality while positioning the business for long-term scalability, maintainability, and modernization.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain .NET solutions
• Support migration from VB6 to .NET 10 · Build API-driven architecture
• Analyze and validate architectural solutions
• Participate in solution vetting and technical reviews
• Mentor junior developers
• Conduct code reviews
• Establish development best practices
• Support Azure cloud implementations
• Participate in Agile ceremonies
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders
• Ensure implementation aligns with architectural standards

Must-Have Skills:

• .NET / C# Development – Deep Senior-level experience with .NET technologies, architecture, and legacy modernization projects
• Azure & Azure DevOps – Experience working with cloud-based solutions, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure development environments
• SQL & API Development – Strong database expertise combined with experience designing and developing API-driven solutions

This is a Contract position based out of Waterloo, ON.

The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $90.00/hr.
