Senior Accountant with Tax Expertise

MNP is hiring a Senior Accountant specializing in individual cross-border taxation for Canadians and U.S. citizens. This position emphasizes tax return management and strategic planning. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for preparing U.S. and Canadian individual income tax returns, utilizing your background in public accounting. Your 2 to 4 years of experience will allow you to assist clients with complex tax strategies and compliance issues. You will effectively communicate tax regulations and develop solutions alongside junior staff and clients. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare individual income tax returns for U.S. and Canadian clients
- Advise on cross-border tax policy and compliance issues
- Investigate and resolve tax discrepancies
- Discuss strategies with client engagement teams
- Mentor junior team members to improve service quality
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or accounting
- CPA designation or in-progress requirements
- 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting experience
- Understanding of Canadian and U.S. taxes
- Experience with accounting and tax software
