Located near the Kelowna Airport, we are on a bus route, with a stop just outside of the hotel. We also pickup our employees from the bus loop at UBCO!
What will you be doing?
As a Guest Services Manager, you will show your leadership and interpersonal strengths to maximize the Front Office Operations, and ensure an exceptional guest journey. This position primarily involves evening shifts.
- Support the Dual Property Front Desk Manager with all aspects of the Front Office department and ensure all service standards are followed with friendly and engaging service
- Handle guest concerns and react quickly, tracking and notifying proper departments to guarantee memorable moments for our guests
- Ensures compliance with all Front Office policies, brand standards, online training and procedures
- Monitor work hours, scheduling and vacation planning of Front Office associates while adhering to budgeted labour costs based on hotel occupancy and work volumes
- Participate in recruitment, selection, training and performance management of Front Office team members
- Attend various meetings and hotel functions as relating to the Front Office function in lieu of the Dual Property Front Office Manager; Assists in conducting regular Department meetings and training sessions
- Complete managerial tasks such as scheduling, payroll, performance management & coaching
- Ensure, all service standards and procedures are adhered to
- Follow company policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training
- Audits on stock in all areas to make sure that all required hotel supplies are ordered and stocked in advance of need
- Must be available to cover shifts for sick calls & emergencies
- Available to work varied shifts: days, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Operate Hotel shuttle in a safe manner in accordance with the Motor Vehicle Act
- Ensure shuttle operations are running efficiently during shift
- Additional duties as assigned by management
What are we looking for?
To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:
- 1 years’ Front Office experience in a leadership position
- Hotel experience required
- Service focused personality is essential and previous leadership experience required
- Valid first aid an asset
- Class 5 drivers license
- Highly organized with an attention to detail
- Prior experience working with Lightspeed ( Marriott) or related system an asset
- Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships guests and associates
- Ability to lead by example, believe in a strong team culture and set the scene for high performance
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds
