About the Role

S&P Global Corporate is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer for its Enterprise Data Organization team, a creative group that collaborates across divisions and drives continuous improvements in platform innovation and usability.

The role is based in Calgary, Canada, and focuses on expanding and supporting cloud infrastructure, monitoring and alerting frameworks, onboarding and migration projects, and coordinating with QA and Development teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software development teams to improve application reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Provide BAU production support and resolve issues before they cause business impact.
• Develop scripts in Python, Unix shell, and AWS Lambda to automate tasks and streamline processes.
• Design, implement, and manage infrastructure using GitHub, CI/CD, and Terraform on AWS, following best practices.
• Write database queries and manage databases; experience with document‑oriented databases is advantageous.
• Set up and configure monitoring solutions, including Grafana and PagerDuty, to maintain system health and respond to incidents promptly.
• Occasionally participate in weekend production releases and deployments.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps and Software Engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications are welcomed.
• Proven experience with AWS cloud technologies, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Git, Unix/Linux, PL/SQL, and scripting or coding.
• Experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as PagerDuty and Splunk.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, able to speak to both technical and business audiences.
• Capable of working independently or leading a team on improvement projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Open‑Source Containerization Certifications.
• Certification in document‑oriented databases.

Location

Calgary, Canada (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)
