NANNY / FAMILY ASSISTANT - LONG-TERM SALARIED POSITION

We’re looking for a wonderful nanny/family assistant to become a long-term part of our family and help care for our two children, ages 4 and 6. Our home is located in Mahogany, in Calgary’s deep southeast, so ideally we’d love to find someone who lives in or near the area and has a reasonable commute to our home. Both of our kids attend school full-time, so during school hours this role is as much about helping our household run smoothly as it is about childcare. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, organized, independent, and proactive—someone who is comfortable seeing what needs to be done and taking initiative without always needing direction. Schedule & Flexibility This is a Monday–Friday salaried position, but it’s important to us to be upfront that the hours will vary throughout the year. During a normal school week, hours will generally be 12:00 p.m. to 5:00/6:00 p.m. However, when the kids are off school, home sick, on PD days, or during school breaks and summer holidays, you will be needed for full-day childcare, so your hours will start earlier and be longer on those days. There may also occasionally be evening or overnight care required when our business schedules change. We’ll always try to provide as much advance notice as possible. Because of this, we’re looking for someone who values the consistency of a salaried position but also has the flexibility to adjust their schedule when the kids’ school schedule or our family’s needs change. What the Role Looks Like Your responsibilities will include:

• Picking the kids up from the bus stop after school
• Occasionally driving them to and/or from school when needed—regular school bussing is already arranged
• Driving the kids to sports, extracurricular activities, and appointments
• Providing full-day childcare during PD days, school closures, school breaks, summer holidays, and sick days
• Keeping the kids active, engaged, and entertained
• Preparing school lunches and snacks
• Occasionally preparing dinner for the family
• Grocery shopping and picking up household essentials
• Doing the kids’ laundry and general household laundry
• General household tidying and organizing
• Keeping the kids’ rooms, play areas, and belongings organized
• Loading and emptying the dishwasher
• Helping with general day-to-day household tasks and keeping things running smoothly

A valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle are required, as driving the kids will be part of the position. A current Vulnerable Sector Check and references will also be required. Salary & Benefits This is a salaried position, with compensation based on experience and the overall arrangement. Health benefits are available after 3 months. We will also cover fuel costs for driving related to the position, and a vehicle allowance may be available depending on the amount of driving required. Coffee Meeting We’ll meet for coffee for a casual conversation and a chance to get to know each other. 3. Paid Trial with the Kids The final step will be a paid trial with our family. This gives us a chance to see how everyone connects and gives you the opportunity to experience the kids, our home, and the role before making a long-term commitment.
