  • *Full-Time | Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM | Central/SW Calgary**
  • *$25/hr during 6-month probation → $30/hr after successful probation**
  • *40 guaranteed paid hours/week**
We’re a busy Calgary family with four boys, ages 9, 12, 14 and 16, looking for someone exceptional to become a long-term part of our household. This is **not a traditional nanny role**. Our boys are independent. What we need is someone who can help make the household run smoothly through **excellent cooking, full housekeeping, laundry, groceries, organization, errands and family support**. ### Cooking is the #1 priority We want a genuinely excellent, experienced **home cook**. No culinary training required — just the ability to make great family meals from fresh ingredients. We enjoy Mexican, Italian, meat-and-potatoes-style meals, fresh produce and healthy, hearty food made mostly from scratch. You’ll grocery shop regularly, prepare dinner for 5:00 PM, prep school lunches, easy breakfasts, fresh fruit/veg and healthy snacks, introduce new meals, learn the tastes of four growing boys, and keep the fridge/pantry clean, organized and stocked. Cooking is usually for 6, but often 8–10 when friends or family are around. Baking is a bonus. Housekeeping & Laundry This is a **full-housekeeping role**: daily general cleaning plus rotating deep-clean tasks. Responsibilities include kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, finished basement, floors, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, tidying, weekly bedding changes, towels and household linens. Laundry includes washing, drying, folding and putting away household laundry and the boys’ clothing. Household Support We want someone who notices what the household needs before we have to ask. That includes keeping supplies stocked, organizing closets/pantry/fridge, monitoring kids’ clothing and shoe sizes, seasonal clothing, sports gear, groceries, Costco, pharmacy pickups, returns, household errands and occasional school pickups. You’ll use your own reliable insured vehicle. Work-related fuel and approved purchases are covered by us. We have two dogs and a cat. Light pet duties may include litter, food/water and backyard cleanup. We normally walk the dogs unless travelling. Personality Matters Our household is busy, loud and sometimes chaotic. We’re looking for someone reliable, hardworking, warm, outgoing, organized, proactive, flexible, trustworthy, independent, physically capable, a strong communicator, comfortable around teenagers, able to take feedback, and equipped with a good sense of humour. We like initiative, but also communication. Our preferred style is basically “I intend to…”— notice what needs doing, tell us what you intend to do, and we stay aligned. Good situational awareness matters too. Sometimes helping means being present; other times it means giving the family space and turning it into an errand afternoon. Schedule & Compensation Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM All 8 hours paid. 40 paid hours guaranteed every week. First 6 months:** $25/hr After successful probation:** $30/hr Benefits after probation include:
  • 4 weeks paid vacation annually
  • Vacation accrues from start date
  • Vacation generally unavailable Nov. 1–Mar. 31
  • No carryover
  • 1 additional paid vacation day per completed year
  • Benefits package after probation
  • Annual compensation review
  • 5 paid sick/personal days from day one
  • Stat holidays off
  • 1.5× overtime after 40 hours/week
  • Potential discretionary year-end bonus
Weekends are normally off. When you go home, **you are off the clock. Occasional Live-In Support When both parents travel, you may occasionally stay in the home for several days or longer. You’ll have your own private bedroom and bathroom and receive additional compensation above normal hourly wages. During those periods, you’re the responsible adult in the home, handling meals, pets, transportation and normal household logistics. Requirements
  • Fluent English
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Reliable insured vehicle
  • Confident Calgary winter driver
  • Satisfactory driving abstract
  • Criminal record check before permanent employment
  • Non-smoker/non-vaper
First Aid/CPR, Spanish, baking, passport and willingness to occasionally travel are assets, not requirements. Legal authorization to work in Canada is preferred; sponsorship may be considered for an exceptional candidate. Paid Trial Serious candidates will complete a **mandatory 2–5 day paid trial at $25/hr** before a permanent offer. ### Long-Term Opportunity We’re looking for the right person for the long haul — potentially **10 years or more**. Mature, experienced applicants and people with significant life experience are encouraged to apply. Formal nanny or professional cooking experience is not required. **Personality, work ethic, reliability and fit matter more than the perfect résumé.** Start date is flexible for the right candidate. **To apply, please submit your résumé.** Please visit to view full details and to apply.
