About the role
Financeit is looking to add an Accounting Co-op Student to our Finance team! We’re looking for a student who understands the basics of day-to-day accounting and is eager to build real, hands-on experience. Advanced Excel skills are essential, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize what matters.

Fall 2026 Co-op term : 4 month or 8 month co-op available (September start)
Working hours : Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Working location : In office 2-3 days a week at 8 Spadina Ave, Suite 2400, Toronto, ON M5V 0S8
What you’ll do
- Post daily journal entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts and loan portfolios.
- Support the preparation of lender reporting.
- Assist with the full-cycle accounts payable process.
- Help with month-end close, including accruals, financial reporting and ad hoc analysis.
- Maintain the capital assets ledger and continuity schedule.
- Assist with the annual audit.
- Take on additional tasks or special projects focused on efficiency and cost savings.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a 3rd, or 4th year university program.
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIF).
- Working toward or planning to pursue a CPA designation.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and day-to-day accounting principles.
- Experience in audit, treasury, or compliance is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Takes initiative, is organized, accountable, and always looking for more efficient ways to get work done.
- General understanding of lending and credit.
- Experience in accounting within financial services or e-commerce is considered an asset.
