As the Retail National Sales Manager , you will be responsible for leading the Canadian Retail Sales Team (3 direct reports) and strategy through the placement, adoption, and share of isle for both bricks & mortar and e-commerce with Canada's largest retailers of the Master Lock and Sentry Safe Brands. You will support your team as they plan and implement programs for expanded penetration and growth and are accountable for assuring both the sales and profitability goals for all accounts across Canada Retail Channel are achieved whilst fostering a culture of talent development, innovation, and strong engagement. You will be a collaborative partner that provides visibility to a large internal support team including Leadership. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with (5+) years of managing a team with a strong background in growing and developing talent and engaging your team. You will have (10+) years of experience in managing national retail accounts and a strong entrepreneurial mindset in the consumer goods industry. This role is hybrid-based out of our Greater Toronto, Ontario office working (1) day a week in-office and the rest remote and traveling up to 25%. We offer a competitive salary with car allowance. What you will be doing:
  • Manages and Leads the Retail Canada Sales team across all aspects of the Master Lock and Sentry Safe Retail Sales portfolio to meet or exceed retail sales plan revenue and margin targets.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, selection, and training of all Retail Canada National Account Managers including their development and performance evaluations.
  • Establishes and implements consistent, effective, and repeatable strategic sales process for the Canada Retail sales team, leveraging data/analytics to drive retail insights and growth.
  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Leads Retail forecasting activities and sales updates.
  • Works with internal resources to ensure maximum customer performance (marketing, finance, logistics, customer service, etc)
  • Guides and supports team of sellers as they develop and manage customer programs to drive sales growth
  • Works cross-functionally with supporting departments to support their team and gain approvals.
  • Develops annual sales plan in support of organization strategy and objectives.
  • Directs implementation of and execution of sales policies and practices.
  • Design, implement, and continuously refine guidelines, content, and approach of regularly scheduled Retailer Business Reviews, planogram reviews, and promotional content ensuring sales team and customer adoption.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts and regularly monitor sales performance.
  • Manages and administers the retail budgets to include travel, expenses, trade shows, co-op advertising, and all other budgeted advertising and marketing spend related to the Canadian retail business.
  • Attends national and regional conventions, trade meetings, and dealer associations as identified or designated as meaningful for general business development and team support.
  • Regularly monitors and reports on operating conditions and specific problems, opportunities, and trends. Maintain in-depth awareness of market and competitive trends and conditions, end-user attitudes and characteristics, business trends, and general economic conditions.

Qualifications
  • >10+ years of sales experience, with +5 years of previous sales leadership experience.
  • Retail sales experience.
  • Experience building, leading, and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Experience in developing and collaborating on go-to-market strategies.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills are essential.
  • Above-average ability to foster mutually beneficial relationships with customers.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% or as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field.
  • Bilingual in French Canadian.
