Lead Mobile Application Engineer

Clario, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Lead Mobile Application Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design, development, and evolution of the Clario App—our core mobile platform used by patients and clinical research sites across global clinical trials. This platform plays a critical role in how patients engage with research, enabling reliable data collection, improving compliance, and supporting a high‑quality trial experience.What You’ll Be Doing
Define and own the architecture for cross-platform mobile applications using .NET MAUI, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and alignment with mobile engineering best practices.Lead the development of core mobile application features using C#, .NET, and XAML, remaining hands‑on with complex, performance‑critical, and platform‑specific components.Collaborate with UX/UI teams to implement responsive, accessible, and high-performance user interfaces optimized for Android and iOS platforms.Oversee integration with RESTful APIs, third‑party SDKs, secure local data storage solutions, and offline synchronization mechanisms.Establish and enforce coding standards, perform architecture and code reviews, and ensure application security, performance optimization, and stability.Own the end‑to‑end mobile application lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines, build automation, versioning, signing, and deployment to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.Mentor and guide engineers at all levels, supporting technical decision‑making and fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.Act as a key technical partner to product owners, backend teams, QA, and other stakeholders, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions.What We Look For
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.7+ years of professional software development experience, including substantial hands‑on experience building and maintaining mobile applications.Experience in a lead, staff or senior engineering role.Proven experience delivering production‑grade Android and iOS applications.Deep understanding of MVVM, clean architecture principles, and modern mobile design patterns.Strong proficiency in C# and .NET, or in a comparable strongly typed language (Kotlin, Swift, Java, TypeScript) with the ability to ramp up quickly on C# and XAML.Experience with a modern mobile development framework or technology stack, such as native Android/iOS development, Xamarin.Forms, .NET MAUI, React Native, or an equivalent solution.Experience integrating RESTful APIs, third‑party services, and secure local data storage solutions.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices for mobile application delivery.Demonstrated experience using agentic AI coding tools to plan, implement, test, debug, and refactor code as part of day‑to‑day software development, including building or tuning the workflows, skills, prompts, or tooling around AI coding agents.Experience making architectural decisions, reviewing code, troubleshooting complex issues, and guiding engineering teams toward scalable solutions.Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.Nice to Have
