JOB SUMMARY
The Creative Director leads the creative vision and execution across all of Boleyn’s projects, ensuring the highest standard of design and storytelling across every medium. This role oversees the creative team, providing direction, mentorship, and quality control on all creative outputs—from brand identities and websites to digital ad campaigns, email marketing, and social media content.
Working within Boleyn’s matrix-style structure, the Creative Director collaborates closely with the Account Managers, Digital Marketing Manager, and Web Development Advisor to bring each client’s vision to life. This role is equal parts hands-on design leadership and high-level creative strategy, guiding the look, feel, and tone of our work across all channels.
Approximately 60-70% of this role is billable, focused on concepting, designing, and refining creative deliverables. The remainder of the time is dedicated to developing creative processes, mentoring team members, and ensuring our creative standards evolve alongside industry trends.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Creative Leadership
- Lead and oversee all creative direction across agency projects, ensuring a cohesive, high-quality visual and written output
- Direct and mentor the creative team members (Designer, Copywriter, etc.), supporting their growth and ensuring consistency in tone, design, and messaging
- Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Manager and Web Development Manager to align creative work with campaign objectives and user experience goals
- Ensure all creative work reflects each client’s brand voice, objectives, and strategic positioning
- Maintain and evolve Boleyn’s own creative standards and brand identity
Creative Development
- Develop and communicate creative concepts, brand directions, and content strategies for a variety of clients and industries
- Guide and review the creation of assets for websites, brand identities, digital ads, email campaigns, publications, and social media
- Participate in brainstorming and ideation sessions with internal teams to generate fresh, effective creative ideas
- Ensure that all designs and copy are aligned with best practices in accessibility, usability, and responsive design
- Support the design of sales proposals and materials as needed for the sales team
Quality and Collaboration
- Work with the Accounts Team to understand project objectives, timelines, and deliverables
- Review and approve all major creative deliverables before they are shared externally
- Facilitate creative reviews and provide clear, constructive feedback to improve outcomes
- Establish and maintain creative processes and templates that enhance efficiency and consistency
- Stay informed on emerging creative and digital marketing trends, identifying new tools and techniques to strengthen agency capabilities

REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work in person with team members in Campbell River, BC
- Minimum seven (7) years of relevant experience in creative roles within an agency or comparable environment
- Proven experience managing or mentoring creative professionals
- Excellent visual communication and presentation skills
- Expert knowledge and proficiency in leading creative and UI/UX design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, etc.)
- Familiarity with social media ad creative and copywriting
- Experience working in WordPress and Shopify environments considered an asset
